Ingredients:

1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

Bake the muffins in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional: you can sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top of the muffins for added chocolatey goodness, if desired.

Enjoy your homemade chocolate muffins, perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings!
