Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, using a hand mixer or a stand mixer with a paddle attachment.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. The centers should be slightly soft, as they will continue to set as they cool.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or as a sweet treat any time of the day!

Note: You can also customize this recipe by adding nuts, coconut flakes, or other mix-ins of your choice to the cookie dough.
