8 oz (225g) spaghetti
2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
Add the cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they start to soften and release their juices.
Season the tomato mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the cherry tomatoes and toss to coat the pasta in the tomato sauce.
Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until heated through.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, and serve hot.
Enjoy your delicious spaghetti with cherry tomatoes!
